Wolff rating: EXCELLENT
Plot summary: Four soldiers in the Gulf War find a map to buried Kuwaiti treasure and decide they deserve to retrieve it.
Biased, pithy comments: They don't make movies like this very often, so you should go and see them. Combining the blistering pacing found in ``Pulp Fiction,'' the moral relativism of, say, ``Bridge on the River Kwai,'' and the semi-surrealism of something like ``Brazil,'' and you get Russell's fourth commerical film (if you count ``Hairway to the Stars'' in 1990). Absorbing, rich in character, and moral without being preachy, this is a great film. This proves again that Ice Cube can not only rap, he can act. Spike Jonez, I think, is robbed of credit as the fourth `king,' See it.
Other Notes: Don't read the reviews, don't read plot spoilers, just see it. Sheesh. And be ready for the embittered reality of the Gulf War.
How many times I have seen it: x1
