Plot summary: Polish showman unintentionally houses Jews during World War II.
Biased, pithy comments: This is a very sweet movie with one foot foot firmly in tragedy and the other in slapstick. The tragedy works better than the slapstick, however, and some of the crazy Nazi antics seem to be in another movie. Still, it holds together well and has some good laughs in it in a drawing-room farce sort of way.
