Twin Dragons(1992)

Wolff rating: EXCELLENT

Plot summary: Twins, separated at birth, meet up by chance and find themselves living the other one's life. This is complicated by the fact that one of them is in trouble with the mob.

Biased, pithy comments: A clever copy of other successful twin movies and stage plays (only with the standard moments of incoherence and missing plot points that most Hong Kong action films contain). We get to see Chan's remarkable acting range (remarkable for a stuntman, anyhow) and enjoy high and low humor, along with some seriously rock'em-sock'em fight scenes. I had a great time, laughed out loud, and wished desperately someone would do better video imports of these older Chan movies. Watch for the cool fight in the mall---Chan dodging the bully's fists is worth the price of admission alone.

Other Notes: Made for a benefit for the Hong Kong Director's Guild; the building it was supposed to fund has never been built. Like all of these movies, this has a zillion other titles. ``Shuang long hui'' is the official Chinese one.

How many times I have seen it: x1

Starring: Jackie Chan, Maggie Cheung, Nina Li Chi, Teddy Robin Kwan
Directed by: Ringo Lam, Tsui Hark
