Plot summary: Indian family adjusts to Benares, but tragedy forces them to move on.
Biased, pithy comments: The second of Sanjit Ray's acclaimed ``Apu'' series, and it deserves all of its plaudits. Amazing filmwork (superior to its predecessor) and more slice-of-life, timeless scenes relating the relationship of mother and child. A must-see, though see ``Pather Panchali'' first.
