Wolff rating: NOT BAD
Plot summary: A killer is on the loose stalking college students, recreating famous urban legends for style points.
Biased, pithy comments: I'm conflicted about this movie. Given how recently I've seen ``C.H.U.D.'', I have to say that you could have made a much, much worse movie, and although I figured out one of the plot twists (OK, *the* plot twist) fairly early in the film, I still had fun watching the characters wander, stupidly, from one end of the set to the other trying to avoid getting whacked. However, the possibilities offered by the premise are largely squandered; outside of dramatizing a very famous one in the opening sequence, attaching murders to legends is pretty haphazard (well, OK, I liked the dog, too). You could have easily written in twice as many urban legends into the film (or four times as many) if you respected your audience's intelligence enough to think they'd recognize the good ones. Instead, the script insists on telling us everything in some plodding exposition scenes and you end up with a good, but not great, slasher film without much imagination. See ``Scream'' instead, but if you're jonesin' for some slashed-up teens, this isn't the worst you could do.
Other Notes: Funny Dawson's creek reference when Josh Jackson cranks his car---Jackson is on that show. Englund, who is famous for his role as Freddy, is one of the best actors in this film.
