Plot summary: Two Old West secret agents go after a maddened Civil War veteran.
Biased, pithy comments: I was told this movie was going to be total and utter dreck. Guess what? It wasn't. Oh, sure, it's mostly dreck, and if your expectations are built up at all, you'd probably demand your eight dollars back, but once you're aware that it's going to be bad, there are a few bright spots. First, the costumes are fun, Will Smith is always enjoyable, and Kevin Kline's sleeping cap were giggle-inducing. There are a few good lines now and then (as well as a few groaners) and you don't normally see someone as good as Branaugh slumming as bad as he is here. The special effects are beautiful but out of place, the story so cartoony you can't believe it was filmed, and the overall feel of the movie is a big, sloppy mess of a film. I haven't seen a film so painstakingly made yet so clunky since ``Bad Girls,'' another failed modern western. The old TV show it is based on would make you think you had a surefire hit, but no.
Other Notes: Selma Hayek---the actress who isn't used in this film.
