As mentioned before, complex test mechanics were dropped between versions 1 and 2 of INDIE. Authors used interface-only triggers to get their testing screens to look and act the way they wanted. Authors reported unanimous satisfaction with that approach, although if an application comes up where authors really want a complex model of a laboratory (such a testing device that has lots of switches that need to be turned on in a particular order), it may become practical to provide a better model of the lab.
